Nell Kathleen Derden

Nell Kathleen ""Kathie"" Derden was born on September 23, 1945, in Houston to Nellie Nyc Derden and Leonard Derden and passed unexpectedly at home on March 1, 2011. Kathie moved to Baytown in 1959 and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1963, where she was a member of the Lee Brigadiers. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baytown.

She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Susan Chatelain. She is survived by daughters, Kim Jacobs Walker of Austin and Jennifer McBride Lilley of Baytown; son, Bryan Jacobs of Wilmington, NC, grandsons, Kory Lilley, Kamrin Lilley, Devon Pankratz, and Jordan Pankratz; brother, Leonard Derden, Jr. of Magnolia; sister, Mary Lynn Mazoch of Deer Park; nephews, Patrick Derden and Jason Chatelain; and nieces, Kelly Derden and Michelle Febbo, and their children.

Her family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Navarre Funeral Home, with a scripture service following at 7:30 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina St., Baytown, TX 77520 at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011.
