Norma Faye Mayer Wootan, 88, of Old River-Winfree was born in Pelly, Texas on February 17, 1931 to William Russell Mayer and Addie Lee Roberts Mayer and peacefully passed away October 1, 2019 at Magnolia Place Health Care in Liberty, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Burgess Wootan; parents, William Russell and Addie Lee Mayer; brother, Thomas William Mayer; sister, Juanita Joyce Smith; granddaughters, Kimberly Maris and Katelyn Straight; and grandson, William Maris.
She is survived by her sons, Orbrey Wootan and wife Tish, Tugger Wootan and wife Janelle; daughters, Vickie Maris and Sherry, Pamela Johnson and Vernon, Penny Cork and Donnie; grandchildren, Tim and Christy Wootan, Clay and Kim Wootan, Cindy and Jeremy Fuller, Bryan and Julie Roy, Chris and Ellen Roy, Candice and Chris Stewart, Angela and Chad Mills, Julia and Kenneth Felice, Craig and Johnna Straight, Clifford and Heather Straight, and Shawna Sparkman and Tammie Naron; 28 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by a host of extended family along with great friends.
She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and was a member of Old River Baptist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Wootan’s Service in Wooster for over 30 years.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77520. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2019, at Navarre Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Biddy officiating. Burial will follow at Hill of Rest Cemetery in Baytown.
