

Robert, or “Buck” as many knew him, was born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania and raised in Texas. He enlisted in the Navy during the Korean War. Throughout his Naval career, Robert received multiple commendations and medals honoring his service of over 20 years. After retiring from the Navy, Robert and his family moved to Texas where he continued his career at PetroTex Chemical (Tenneco). He met his special love, Rosie, as he was transitioning to retirement which allowed Robert and Rosie to travel the US in their motorhome. Together, they hosted annual 4th of July parties and family reunions for their large extended families at the Crosby homestead.
Robert is survived by his wife Rosie Buckholt, brother Richard Buckholt and sister-in-law Susan Buckholt, numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased were his parents, Thomas E. Buckholt, Lydia R. Buckholt and his siblings, Thomas Buckholt, Lydia Langston, Julia Rabby and Donald Buckholt.
Robert is survived by his children: Cheryl Buckholt, Joan Vogel, Kalani Engle (Tom) and Robert T. Buckholt; his grandchildren: Kati, Lauren, Chris, Alyssa, Jackie, Chance, Samantha, Kailey, Kara and Karissa; and his great grandchildren: Charlotte and Evelyn. Robert is survived by his stepchildren: Vickie Brandon, Sue Henry (Billy) and Michael Chavez (Alicia); his step grandchildren: Anthony, Lesley, Nicholas, Duncan, Larry, Kaylen, Leilah, Devyn, Shelby, Rylee, Ian, Sidney and Gianna; and step great grandchildren Kammi, Alex, Devin, Chassidy, Isaiah, Angie and Orlando.
A Memorial service for Robert will be held Tuesday, September 21st, 2 p.m. (CST) at Harvest Time Church of God, 495 S. Diamondhead Blvd., Crosby TX. The Reverend David Faircloth will officiate the service, all are welcome to attend. Burial is pending at Arlington National Cemetery.
