Roy Hall, Jr., 64, of Highlands, Texas, surrounded by family and dear friends, passed into the arms of his savior, Jesus Christ on December 29, 2014. Roy was born September 11, 1950, to Roy and Joyce Hall of Highlands. Roy graduated from Ross S Sterling High School in 1969. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in History from Sam Houston State University. Upon graduation, he began working for Merchant's Fast Motor Lines. He married Susan Coward and had two children, Kelly and Matthew. He also worked as a substitute teacher for the Goose Creek and Deer Park school districts.
Roy was met in heaven by his father, Roy Hall, Sr. and brother Richard ""Rick"" Hall, and his grandparents.
Known as to family and friends as ""Sonny,"" he was a faithful member of CenterPoint Community Church, Deer Park where he enjoyed the fellowship of friends and where he was always the first there every Sunday morning. Roy was an avid history buff, loved to read and swap books and really loved John Wayne, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and ""old"" country. Roy had the gift of giving whatever he had ...from books to whatever he thought or knew you needed....his heart was full of love for his family and long time friends. He loved and laughed hearing stories of family and was truly interested in the lives of his nieces and nephews and close friends, such as Larry Hooks and Mike Earls. He would make himself available to help anyone he could.
