Santiago Ochoa Gonzalez, 77, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at his residence. He was born on May 31, 1947, in Cotija De Paz, Mexico, to the late Edenina Gonzalez and Gilberto Ochoa. Santiago had a passion for serving others. He made a career in auto detailing, making sure every vehicle that he took care of was immaculately clean.
Santiago pursued many interests, some of which included fishing, watching tv, spending time with his beloved fur babies. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop or just being outdoors in the fresh air. Santiago was a collector of all things, no matter what their value was, he would find a use for it. He was outgoing and loved to have a good time. Santiago could light up a room with his presence, with his boisterous laugh and piercing eyes. He was truly a social butterfly. Santiago’s family meant everything to him. He strived to be the best he could be for them and was extremely protective of each of them.
Santiago was preceded in death by his wife Carmela Garcia; his parents; his siblings; and his sons Jose and Sifredo Barragan. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his sons Efrain Barragan, and Hector Barragan; his grandchildren Cindy Barragan and husband Leonardo, Alejandro Barragan and wife Ary and Christina Barragan and husband Daniel; his great-grandchildren Jazmin, Celestino, Mia and a new great-grandson on the way; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
