Sue Shults, age 89, of Baytown, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 with her loving family by her bedside. Sue was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on April 10, 1935. The family migrated to Texas in the mid-1940's.
Sue was married for 46 years to Howard C. Shults, who loved her dearly. Sue had a long distinguished career in the newspaper business. She worked at the Pasadena News-Citizen, the Baytown Sun, and the Houston Chronicle from which she retired around the year 2000.
Sue enjoyed traveling, nature and bird watching, going to the movies and discovering new restaurants. But, her biggest passion, along with her love for her family, was her love for Jesus Christ. She was a born-again Christian who was active in her church and attended services regularly. She loved the Gaither Gospel Hour on TV and would sing along with all the hymns that were sung.
Sue was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Jeannetta Marie Schmidt Shubin. Also waiting for her in heaven was her beautiful granddaughter, Cindy Sue Husband Beaudreaux.
Sue is survived by her husband Howard C. Shults, her son Jack Husband and his wife Pat, her daughter Teresa McDonald and her husband Terry. She had 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. That list is growing as we speak. She also had numerous nieces and nephews.
Rest in peace "Grandma Sue". You were loved by all!
