

Thalia Lee Deason Preston, 86, of Baytown, was born March 19, 1921 in El Dorado, AR, to parents Charles and Hattie Primm Porter and passed away on the Lord’s day, Sunday, July 22, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for over fifty years, the Goose Creek Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #798 and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #912 Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was a wonderful mother and a very strong, interesting woman who loved people and most of all, her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin Lee Deason, husband, Jack G. Preston, and three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Jean Deason Perkins and husband Norman E., and Ruth Marie Deason Hulme Phillips, all of Baytown; sister, Edna Andrews of Keatchie, LA; grandchildren, Sharon Van Tuyl and husband Mark, David Perkins and wife Diane, Martha Chesnut and husband David, Julie Fallin and husband Jerry, and Thalia Kurdt and husband Peter; special niece, Mabel Taylor of El Dorado, AR; 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Norman Perkins, David Perkins, Mark Van Tuyl, David Chesnut, Jerry Fallin, and Peter Kurdt.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Beau Rosser officiating with Easter Star rites. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Blackjack Cemetery near Huntsville.
