

Thelma Sanders Hobbs, 100, of Hempstead and long time resident of Baytown, was born in Ben Wheeler, TX on March 30, 1911 and began her heavenly life on January 28, 2012. Thelma was a 62 year resident of Baytown. She was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church of Baytown for over 60 years. She participated in many church activities and especially enjoyed the domino games with her friends. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crocheting for her family and friends always surprising them with gifts of her creation.
She was predeceased by her husband Hiram Emery Hobbs, to whom she was married for 60 years. Also preceding her in death were her parents, John and Ardella Sanders; brothers, Edward Sanders, Thurman Sanders, and Wayland Sanders; and sisters, Gladys Beggs, Maye Stanger, and Lovie Abbe. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Faustine Parker and her husband, Robert, of Hempstead; son, Richard Hobbs and his wife Sharon, of Bayou Vista; sister, Faye Wallace of Terrell; sisters-in-law, Wanda Sanders of Baytown and Jessie Faye Hobbs of Midland; grandchildren, Pam Parker of Houston, Penny Crane and husband, Kevin of Spicewood, Scott Parker and wife, Diane of Tomball, and Ryan Hobbs and wife, Mimi of Dallas; great grandchildren, Michael Cardone of Austin, Haley, Dylan, and Colin Parker of Tomball, and Ryan and Story Hobbs of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Tuesday January 31, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services officiated by Reverend Jon Green of San Antonio will be held at Navarre Funeral Home on Wednesday February 1, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Parker, Dylan Parker, Colin Parker, Kevin Crane, Michael Cardone, and Keith Sanders.
