Theresa “Terrie” Hallman Laird, of Baytown, Texas, was born on September 19, 1957, in Beaumont, and entered into eternal rest on September 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She had just celebrated her 68th birthday surrounded by the love of family and cherished friends.
A proud graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School, Terrie went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She dedicated over three decades of her professional life to Ratliff and Jentho CPA, where she served as a trusted accountant for 32 years before retiring.
Terrie was known for her joyful spirit and fun-loving nature. Terrie’s heart belonged to her family—especially her grandchildren. Whether cheering from the sidelines at their games or having fun together at the river, the beach, or at home, she never missed a chance to be present in their lives. She was their biggest fan, strongest supporter, and most loving “Grammie.”
A longtime member of Old River Baptist Church, she found joy, strength, and sisterhood through her small group, the “SisterChicks.” In retirement, she loved spending time at the river house with her beloved “river gang” where days were full of sunshine, laughter and unforgettable fun.
Travel with long-time friends was one of Terrie’s greatest joys. She especially treasured her trip to Greece last year, where she marveled at the beauty and history of the ancient world. She also held dear her time in New York.
Terrie was preceded in death by her parents, Emory Floyd, Jr. and Doris Hallman; her brother, Bruce Hallman; and her father-in-law, Gordon Laird.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 47 years, Jeff Laird; her daughter Alicia and husband Jason Morgan; her son Jonathan Laird and JoJo; and her six beloved grandchildren: Kaitlyn Morgan, Trevor Laird, Jacob Morgan, Jordyn Morgan, Izabelle Morgan, and Harper Laird. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were brighter for having known her.
The family will receive friends at Earthman Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Ronnie Webb and Bro. E. Richard Steel, with burial to follow at Sterling White Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Trevor Laird, Jacob Morgan, Brodie Cooper, Kolt Daniel, Sam Rayon, and Lance Frazier.
A heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and caregivers who cared for Terrie with such kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
Terrie’s legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center or Blast & Cast Men's Ministries.
