Vera Mae Cogburn, 83, of Baytown, Texas, passed away July 1, 2021. She was born in Miami, Florida, on February 21, 1938 to B.J. and Gladys Smith. She was married to Charlie C. Cogburn Jr. for 65 years. Vera had a career as a Technical Librarian for Exxon.
She was a member of The United Methodist Women, and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She had a passion for her loving family, good food, travel, reading, her weekly T.V. programs, and sharing articles from magazines and newspapers with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, B.J. Smith and Gladys Dulin, and her beloved brother, J.W. Smith.
She is survived by her husband Charlie C. Cogburn Jr., her sisters and their husbands, Dwala and Stanley Cargill, Bonnie and Chuck Meeder, and Ruby and Charlie Quinn, her son and his wife, Scott and Kristen Cogburn, and her grandkids, Joshua and Eva Cogburn, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held on July 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Sterling White Cemetery, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, Texas 77562.
