

Wesley E. Macon went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 19, 2008 in Baytown, TX. He was born in Edna, TX on June 7, 1924 and moved to Baytown while in junior high school. A graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp immediately after graduating. He received his wings and became a bomber pilot in the late stages of WWII, flying B-24s, B-25s, and B-26s. He advanced to the rank of first lieutenant before receiving an honorable discharge.
Upon returning from the service, Wesley attended Lee College and earned a BBA in Accounting from Sam Houston State Teachers College. He worked as an accountant in the oil and gas industry for many years. He began his career with The Superior Oil Company, after which he spent 25 years with the Moran Corporation., where he became Secretary/Treasurer and Chief Accountant. He was President of the company's real estate division and was a member of the Petroleum Accountants Society of Houston.
He was a faithful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and hard working provider. He faithfully attended Baker Road Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Doris; his parents Willie Dee and Betty Macon; brothers Alton and Willie Glenn. Surviving him are son Terry Macon and wife Genia of Flower Mound, TX; daughters Patti Macon and Sharon Macon, both of Baytown; son Rodney Macon and wife Sharon of Jersey Village, TX; eldest grandson Robin Macon, only granddaughter Luanne and husband Joey Sivinski, youngest grandson Joshua Macon; and brother and sister-in-law Floyd and Juanita Macon of Nederland, TX.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Robin Macon, Joshua Macon, Mitchell Macon, Greg Macon, Roy Fransen, George Meadows and John Rowland.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Baker Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 900 W. Baker Rd., Baytown, TX 77521. A favorite charity of Wesley's may also be considered; Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P. O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX. 79105-9985.
