

Charles served his country honorably in the United States Army, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. He enjoyed sharing stories of his military experiences with folks of all ages. Charles was very active in our community, even standing outside Channel 12 News to collect donations to help with rebuilding efforts after 9/11.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Bessie and Richard Henson; wife Lenora M. Henson; brother Freeland Henson; and son-in-law James M. Turk.
Those left to cherish Charles’ memory is his children, Edmond L. Henson and wife Sandra, Lorraine H. Turk, and Charles R. Henson and fiancé Judy; companion and friend, Mitzi Toups, grandchildren, M. Brent Turk and wife Erin, Garrett L. Turk, Woody L. Osborn and wife Melanie, Rodney J. Osborn and wife Christie, Timothy W. Osborn, Scarlett R. Roemer and husband Buddy, Nathan L. Henson and wife Hannah, Seth Henson and fiancé Ashley, Elyse Henson, Sean Stueber and wife Vanessa, Tami Guilmain and husband Jeff, Seth Stueber and wife Mary, Charla Griffin and husband Brant, and Jake Leger and wife Kelli,; great-grandchildren, Addison R. Turk, Matthew R. Turk, Cole H. Turk, Bailyn D. Turk, Zackary W. Osborn and wife Jordan, Hannah M. Govero and husband Matthew, Joshua W. Osborn, Chelsey A. Osborn, Lauren E. Osborn, William L. Henson, Katherine L. Henson, Josh Stueber, Alissa Bradford and husband Cheyne, Mason Guilmain, Olivia Guilmain, Haley Alderson, Morgan Stueber, Maisey Stueber, Adam, Zakk, Beaux, and Lela Griffin,; great-great-grandchildren, Eliza J. Osborn, Simon W. Govero, Carson Bradford, and Scarlette Bradford; sister Josephine Henson, Aline Shoemaker, Charlene Leger, and Molly Toups; sister-in-law Helen Henson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and fur babies.
A Gathering to Share Memories of Charles will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, April 20, from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
A Celebration of Charles’ Life will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, April 21, at 10:30am, officiated by Pastor David Logan. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park; Military Honors will be rendered.
Pallbearers will be Major Brent Turk, Garrett Turk, Nathan Henson, Brant Griffin, Adam Gilliland, and Jake Leger. Honorary Pallbearers are Edmond Henson, Charles Henson, and Bro. Ray Walston.

Family requests that military veterans and retirees wear their military uniforms if possible and their metals in honor of Charles.
