26, 1944, in Beaumont, Texas to Frances Stiteler and Leroy Stiteler.
She lived in Beaumont all her life, where she received her early education. She graduated from South
Park High School in 1962. She then received her Bachelor’s degree in education. She began her teaching career at South Park High School. She taught at several different schools in the BISD area. She obtained her Master’s degree from Lamar University in 1993. She completed her teaching career with over 35 years at Forest Park/West Brook High School.
Diana put her daughters first and foremost in her life. She was the most amazing mother anyone could
be blessed with. Once she started having grandchildren, they became her precious angels and were
quickly moved to the top of the ranks. Even though her heart was dedicated to her immediate family,
there were a few students that might have out ranked her daughters. She took in more kids that were
friends and/or students as her own. There were many nights that she would get up no matter the time,
to prepare a breakfast feast for whoever was in need. After teaching all day, she would then come home
and tutor students that needed that extra push.
Once she became a grandmother, it then shifted to football games, dancing, cheerleading, and marching
bands. If her grandchildren had an event, she was there.
As her children were growing up, she was active in various groups. As a member of the Lioness Club, she supported her husband in Lions Club events. She served with Amelia 4H, CampFire girls, Blue Birds, and FFA chapters at West Brook, BCP and Central High Schools.
Additionally, she was an amazing Mary Kay Consultant. She excelled quickly with her position within the
company. She spent countless hours helping her best friend, Ruth DeLeon make cheerleader uniforms
for local high schools.
Upon retiring from BISD in 2011, Diana enjoyed playing Bunco, Bridge & Mahjong with various groups in
the area. She was a member of the St. Andrews Knit Witts group. She served in various positions in her
church, her favorite being Vacation Bible School.
She is preceded in death by her mother Frances Rennick Jones, her fathers Thomas Pruett Jones, Sr. and Leroy Stiteler, her brothers Thomas Pruett Jones, Jr. and Lawrence Lavelle Jones, her sister Kathryn
Duperier, her sons-In-law Mike Ferguson, Sr. and Herb Ballance, III.
She is survived by her daughters, Liz Ferguson, Monika Ballance and Piper Roberts, her son-in-law Keith
Roberts, her sister-in-law Christine Kilbourn-Jones. Her grandchildren Danielle Soileau, Kayla Cummins
and husband Zac Cummins, Whitney Soileau, Courtney Meinscher, Austin Roberts, Tyler Roberts and Zoe Roberts. Her great grandchildren Hannah Corbell, Derek Roberson, Grayson Roberson and Bayleigh
Roberson.
