Dorthy Smith

Dorthy Smith, 92, a lifelong resident of the Beaumont, Orange and Vidor areas, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Vidor. Dorthy was born on May 11, 1923 in Steepcreek, Texas to her parents Frank M. and Sallie Real Parsley who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her husband Jerdon Smith, two sons, Jerry Smith, Ronnie Smith and one grandson Darrin Smith. She was a homemaker who enjoyed embroidery, quilting, sewing, cooking, and most of all taking care of all her family’s needs. Dorthy was a Baptist and attended various churches throughout the area. Surviving Dorthy are her five sons, Mark Smith and wife Judy of Beaumont, Robert Smith and wife Mary of Frisco, Texas, David Smith of Vidor, Matt Smith and wife Denise of Albany, New York, Donnie Smith of Vidor, two brothers, Raymond Parsley and wife JoAnn of Beaumont and Frank M. Parsley, Jr. and wife Anita of Vidor. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, one step grandchild, eleven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday June 10, at 10:00A.M. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont with Rev. Jim Sliger officiating.
