Lynne, so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. What a wonderful memorial - it was a joy to read of her full and loving life.  Mom saw it in the paper and let me know so I could read it. God bless and comfort you and your family through this difficult time. Sherry Fail Eason

What a remarkable lady!  Not only was I blessed to be her student but as an adult, her friend.  I can still hear her voice telling of one of her adventures or singing that crazy April Fools Day song.  

She adored her family, loved her church and Eastern Star and cherished her friends.  While in her kindergarten class I could never seem to learn to tie shoes like the other children.  Mrs. McPike was determined to teach me this task, and I remember her stating, "There's more than one way to tie a shoe!"  I continue to tie my shoes, that different way, at age 48.

She lived and loved deeply and without condition, and we are all the better for having known Evelyn.  Lynne, may you and your family be comforted by memories of your mother and enfolded in God's peace and refreshment of spirit.

I remember Mrs. McPike as a long-term substitute for my third grade teacher at Bingman Elementary in 1958-59.  She was a sweet lady.  Regards to her family.

Aunt Evelyn was a special part of our lives. She was a truely wonderful friend of my mothers and family. She will be dearly missed. You and your family will be in my thoughts. Although seperated by distance over the last years,she has always remained in our hearts. She will be a wonderful memory of a era gone by, where children addressed close friends out of respect as aunt and uncle.

Lynne, I have very fond memories of Christmas with your mom and Jim. They were both kind especially to all of the kids at Frances and Dorothy's house. Evelyn was the keeper of the family's Normwegian roots. Peace and Blessings to you.

There is still a hole in front of me in the pews of St. Timothy's UMC where she used to worship.  My sincere condolences to Lynne, Roy and all of her family and friends.  God's grace and blessing be with all of you at this time and always.  I'm sure she is smiling and watching over us all.

We are saddened to learn of your Mother's death...she was my Arithmetic teacher in the 5th grade (more years ago than you would believe!!)...she was always one of my favorite...kind, loving, always smiling...just a dear, dear person...then, we also had the blessing to be with her for many years at St. Paul's UMChurch....I always kept up with her through my sister, Blanche Meyer...know that she will always be remembered in the most loving way...our prayers are with you at this very sad time of your lives...regardless of age or condition, we are never quite ready to give up any of our loved ones, but remember that life (I am convinced) is built on memories...from the picture slide (which is great), all of you have numerous ones to remember her by...our love to each of you...

Ms. Evelyn was a truly amazing woman.  I considered a second grandmother.  She was a neighbor of my grandmother - Elinor Deaton - and in the summer while visiting Grandma, I would very frequently go visit her in the mornings and just sit and talk.  I could go just about any time of day - swing, chat, play.  She always welcomed us.  She will always be remembered with great love and respect.

Thank you for your dedication to the education of Beaumont's youth.  You will be missed. Class of '62.

Mrs McPike was my teacher back in the late 50s. I will always remember her as a kind lady.She was fair to her students and very loving. Yes, a special angel is watching over us now. She will always be in my happiest memories.
