Herman “Catfish” Rawlinson, 88, lifelong resident of Beaumont, passed away on Saturday December 6, 2014 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was born in Moss Hill, Texas on January 2, 1926 to his parents Joshua Benjamin and Minnie Hartless Rawlinson who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his wife Mary L. Rawlinson, two sons Danny Rawlinson and Tommy Rawlinson. Mr. Rawlinson was a maintenance supervisor for Gulf Co.. Catfish enjoyed fishing playing 42 and was an avid vegetable farmer who was written about several times in the Beaumont Journal newspaper for his expertise. Surviving him are his son; Larry Dean Rawlinson of Garland, daughter; Jan Davis of Beaumont, brothers; Bobby Rawlinson and wife Lola of Hardin, John “Bumper” Rawlinson and wife Linda of LaGrange, sisters; Margie Hanlon of Pt. Neches, Tommie Doucette and husband Melvin of Old River, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the service time of 2:00 P.M. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday December 10, 2014 with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
