James is survived by his step-daughter Shelly Lathrop; brothers, William Lathrop and wife Patty of Brandon, Vermont, David Lathrop and wife Beth of Silsbee, John Lathrop of Angleton, Michael Lathrop of Corpus Christi, and Bobby Lathrop of Silsbee. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William Lathrop and Mary Casses Lathrop, and son Nickolos Lathrop.
James was Catholic by faith and a laborer for Clearstream Waste Water Management. He enjoyed people watching, being around family and BBQ and liked Disco music.
