In 1963, he married Linda and together they raised their children. James went on to work for Beall's where he retired. He loved the Lord and enjoyed reading his Bible and also served as the Pastor of Crestview Baptist Church and later Smith Point Baptist Church. He loved putting together model airplanes and once made a crystal radio.
