Raul "Roy" Chavez Arriola Sr.

Roy was born on September 21,1959 in Port Arthur, Texas, to the late Marcelino Arriola and Mollie Chavez Arriola. He was a man of quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Roy enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved fishing and hunting, relaxing with a glass of sweet tea, and watching his favorite TV shows. More than anything, he loved being a father. Roy was the proud father of four sons, Roy II, Justin, Marcus, and Ryan. He worked hard to raise his boys into good men and led by example through his love, support, and strong but steady presence. The values he instilled in them helped shape the men they became.

One of Roy's greatest joys was watching his sons grow into devoted husbands and fathers and build loving families of their own. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was incredibly proud of the family he helped build and loved being a part of their lives.

Roy will be remembered as a loving father, Pawpaw, brother, and friend. He had a kind heart, a quiet nature, and a love for his family that never wavered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino Arriola and Mollie Chavez Arriola, and several siblings.

Roy is survived by his beloved sons, Raul “Roy” Arriola II and wife, Jacklynn; Justin Arriola; Marcus Arriola and wife, Jennifer; and Ryan Arriola and wife, Cassie. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexis “Lexi” Bickham and husband, Kaleb; Ma'Kenzie Arriola; Karmyn Arriola; Emma Arriola; Justin Arriola Jr.; and Dax Arriola; great-grandchildren, Kent and Kasey Bickham; numerous siblings; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Cremation services will be held under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Roy's legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly. The lessons he taught, the example he set, and the love he shared will continue to be carried forward by the generations that follow him.
