Ray was born on January 16, 1947 in Port Neches to Raymond Alford and Winnie Denton. He had served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a CPA for Dixon Motors. Ray loved to fish and hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Fairl Denton, Earl Denton, Elbert H. Denton; and 2 sisters, Mary Francis Thornton, Addie Pearl Hanna.
His survivors include 2 brothers, Wilbert L. Denton and wife Silvia of Beaumont, Texas, Jimmy Denton and wife Diane of Amarillo, Texas; 3 sisters, Billie Joyce Harrington of Beaumont, Texas, Thelma Johnson and husband of Kirbyville, Texas, and Dixie Koonce and husband of Sheridan, Texas.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2010 in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside Services will be Monday, November 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the “Garden of Gethsemane” Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Farrel Denton, Eric Phelps, Gerald Koonce, Doug Musick, Guy Johnson, Billy Ed Johnson and Wilbert Denton, Jr.
