

Rogers Bridges was born October 26, 1931 in High Prairie, TX to the late Moses and Artensie Bridges. Rogers was the second of seven blessings born into their union.
Rogers graduated from Madisonville Colored High School in Madisonville, TX He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After leaving the Army, he attended barbers college in Houston. He later attended Erma Hughes Business College in Houston, TX where he met his future wife Elizabeth Lewis.
On August 5, 1958 he married Elizabeth (Lewis) Bridges and to their union five children were born: Roderick, Sandra (Ding), Mark (Popie), Patrick, and Mary.
Rogers was an extremely hard worker, he spent more than 30 years working for Johnson Florist. He then spent many years running his own companies leveling houses and exterminating. Every Saturday morning, for more than 58 years, you could find him at the barbershop servicing his loyal customers.
Rogers leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Elizabeth Lewis Bridges of Beaumont, TX; 5 children: Roderick Bridges (Joyce) of Houston, Sandra Bridges Jordan Washington (Marvin) of Humble, Mark Bridges (Steffani), Patrick Bridges and Mary Bridges all of Beaumont, TX; one brother: Moses Bridges; three sisters: Mozetta Box, Gladys Mays, and Rosie Mae Brown; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents Henry and Elvira Circy Bridges and Sam Henry and Clemmie Barrett; his parents Moses and Artenise Bridges; two brothers Horace Bridges, Waldo Bridges; grandson Keilynn Bridges; great-grandson Mark Yarbrough.
