Shannon Lee Wilkinson was born July 6, 1957 in Pampa, Gray Co., TX. He was the youngest child of Clarence Lacy Wilkinson & Billie Louise Ratliff. He was born with Methemoglobinemia, which caused his life expectancy to be only 6 or 7 years but due to the loving care of our grandparents, Bill & Bess Wilkinson, he was able to live with them in Beaumont until his 18th birthday. In 1975 Shannon went to the TXMHMR facility in Brenham. There he received the care and attention he needed to reach his 65th birthday. Shannon loved his caretakers and peers at Brenham State School.
Shannon is preceded in death by his brother, Keith Lacy Wilkinson, his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his sister and legal guardian, Sherry Lynn (Wilkinson) Hightower of Coldspring, TX, half-sister Kim (Bell) Thibodeaux and husband Jeffrey Thibodeaux of Pt. Arthur, TX and 3 nieces and their families; Jessica L. (Wooten) Denegall of Austin TX, Sherry K. Noeller of Apple Springs TX and Lacey G. (Noeller) Machuca of Mobile, AL and several great nieces and nephews.
