

Willie Mae Raven, 86, of Beaumont, passed away on Monday June 30, 2014 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Willie was born in Mansfield, Louisiana on April 24, 1928 to her parents Johnie Lee and Jannie Russel Owens who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her four sisters, Alberta Johnson, Lois Crump, Nettie Belle Henderson, Jesse Belle Walker, granddaughter Delona Daw, and great grandson Jarrod Neal. Mrs. Raven was a sixty year resident of the Beaumont area and enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and excelled in being a wonderful housewife always providing for all of her family’s needs. Surviving Willie are her husband of 68 years Leonard Raven, Sr. of Beaumont, six sons, Leonard Raven, Jr. and wife Brenda of San Diego, California, John D. Raven, Sr. and wife Carolyn, Homer T. Raven and wife Patricia, Charles E. Raven, Tommy R. Raven all of Beaumont, and Ricky A. Raven and wife Felicia of Sugar Land, Texas, daughter Trina R. LaSalle and husband Tony of Beaumont, brother, Johnie Lee Owens, Jr. and wife Catherine of Houston, sisters, Myrtis Hudson of Austin, Erma Adams and husband Archie and Rose Shaw and her husband Charles all from Shreveport, Louisiana. Mrs. Raven had twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin Saturday July 5, 2014 at 12:00 noon until the funeral service which will begin at 2:00 p.m. at The Beaumont Church of Christ, 3710 S. Eleventh Street in Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Dr. Joel V. Brown, Minister will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony LaSalle, Jr., Jordan LaSalle, Leonard LaSalle, Christopher Raven, Reginald Cormier, Randle Cormier, and John D. Raven, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Raven, Jr., John D. Raven, Sr., Homer T. Raven, Charles E. Raven, Tommy R. Raven, and Ricky A. Raven.
