Anita Rae Thomas

Anita Thomas 93, passed away peacefully March 14, 2023 in McMinnville, OR. She was born to the late Marvin and Velma Colliver in 1929 in Missouri. She was married to Paul Moffitt in 1950 and had 4 children. After living in many states, she settled in the Rogue Valley of Oregon. Anita was married to her late husband Verlyn (Tom) Thomas in 1972. After many years working in mortgage banking, real estate and the title business, she retired to the Oregon coast that she loved so much. She was very proud to receive her bachelor’s degree in business at the age of 76 to a standing ovation. Anita was an accomplished seamstress, she took great joy in her skill and made beautiful clothes for her children. She was very active in Rotary Club, Soroptimist Club and volunteered many hours to the Port Orford Life Boat Station / Cape Blanco Heritage Society. After her husband’s passing she relocated to a retirement community in McMinnville. She is survived by her children: Jim (Pam) Thomas, Paulajane Moffitt, Steven (Cheryl) Moffitt, Michael (Julie) Moffitt and Lisa (John) Shafer. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. All our thanks to Hillside Retirement Community staff and Providence Hospice for their loving care.
