Bernadine was born February 19, 1936 in Spokane, WA to Bernard and Frances (Dippold) Sicilia. On July 25, 1954 she married the love of her life, Robert DeBorde, in Spokane. Robert was serving in the military at the time, and the next few years found them relocating to Austin, Texas, back to Spokane, and finally to Hillsboro in 1960.
Mrs. DeBorde was a homemaker and raised two children. During the winter she worked making wreaths for 35 years at Martin Schmidt and Sons. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert DeBorde of Hillsboro;
their daughters Robin Schlottmann and husband Jim of Banks, Oregon, and Lisa DeBorde of Hillsboro;
a brother, Tim Sicilia and wife Cindy of Spokane;
three granddaughters - twins Lindsay Nations of Banks and Christine Nations of Aloha, Oregon, and Rianna DeBorde of Hillsboro;
and by a special friend, Bernie.
At Bernadine’s request, no services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Avamere Rehabilitation of Hillsboro for the loving care given to Bernadine during the last days of her illness.
