Cindi Lou Healy

Cindi Lou Johnson the eldest of four girls born to John and Carol (Harwood) Johnson was born on June 16, 1960. Cindi was raised in Hillsboro and attended St. Mathews School for both elementary and mid high. In her youth she would play summer softball leagues with her sisters which she enjoyed very much. Cindi attended Hillsboro High School and graduated in 1978.

Cindi was blessed with two children, Kim in 1982 and Brian in 1985. Brian was born with a rare medical condition and Cindi’s life became dedicated to taking care of him. For twenty two years she cared for Brian. She was devoted to his care and loved both her children very much. In addition to caring for Brian she also balanced a full time job at Tektronix.

In 1998 she met Martin J. Healy, Jr. and they were married two years later in May of 2000. For 7 years they enjoyed time together and Martin helped care for Brian as well. It brought much joy to Cindi to see Brian happy and enjoy the wonderful experiences they were all able to share. Sadly, in 2007 Brian passed away and at the same time Cindi was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Cindi passed away on December 26, 2013 in Beaverton, Oregon at age 53. Although the last few years of Cindi’s life were riddled with health issues, she is now reunited with her son and at peace.

She was preceded in death by her loving son Brian and is survived by her husband, Martin J. Healy, Jr.; daughter Kim; parents, John & Carol Johnson; sisters, Lori (Dave) Jerome, Dana (Tod) Kintz, Lisa (Kevin) Cowan; 1 grandson and several nieces and nephews. In addition to the many care givers who comforted Cindi during her illness.

A funeral mass to celebrate Cindi’s life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 10:00 am in St. Cecelia Catholic Church located at 12250 SW 5th St. Beaverton, OR 97005 with burial taking place in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Cindi’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
