Ella Kimber Baker

Ella was born on July 27, 1919 to Charles and Alice Kimber in South Bend, Washington. She was one of five children. The family lived along the Oregon coast. Ella moved to Portland after graduating from High School in Wheeler, Oregon. She met her husband Art in 1945. Together they raised their daughter, Charlynn in Portland. Ella worked as the manager of a laundry during that time period. In 1960 the family purchased a house in Beaverton where she has lived ever since. Ella enjoyed gardening and home improvement projects. She helped raise three grandchildren in the house. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. After Ella retired, she enjoyed taking care of her two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping, trips to the beach and trips to the casino. Ella and Art were involved in the Sherwood Elks Club for many years. She passed away on July 1, 2013. Ella is predeceased by her husband Art, and grandson, Scott Maixner. She is survived by her brother, Leroy “Kelly” Kimber, daughter, Charlynn Jessing, grandchildren, Kim Fitzgerald and Dustin Maixner, great grandchildren, Jessica Seals and Ryan Fitzgerald and great great grandchildren, Chloe Seals, Maddox Fitzgerald and Ella Fitzgerald.
