Frances Leona Sharpe

As Leona’s family we felt it appropriate she tell her own story. She is at Peace with

her Father in heaven. She flies on Eagle’s Wings.

I was born in New London Iowa to Hiram and Gertrude Amelia Byers(both deceased).

I was he fifth of seven siblings, Perry,Ruth,Ada,Mabel,Walter, Martha. (all deceased) ,I

came from a long family of teachers, ranchers, authors, and scientists. In my young

years I was a surgery nurse at Providence St. Vincent Hospital. After having children, I

became a homemaker.

I married Hugh Rice-Plumb .I was blessed with three children,Thomas(deceased)

Doris and Dave Mckee of Eugene Oregon, Harold and Diane .of Nyssa Oregon. I

married Lawrence W. Sharpe,(deceased) we were blessed with a daughter Linda of

Beaverton.I have 8 grand children, Cheri, Dawn, Michael, Stephen, Michelle, Jon, Christopher, and Kenneth.

Our family has been blessed with 9 great grandchildren, Zora, Nicole,Jason,Amanda, Ryan,Breandon,William,Cory, Kenneth.

5 great-great grandchildren(Madeline,Elizah,Seth,Daphney, and Lillian Rose)

I have a grand collection of Madonnas as I drew my example from our blessed mother,

I especially drew to Our Lady of the 7 sorrows. She and I had passions that were

similar.

I was very active in church in Oregon and California. Prayer alert, the mothers club.

PTA, Stephens Ministry, In civic organizations: blood drive volunteer, room mother,

master gardner, canvassed for cancer, heart association, home visitors, Rotary Annʼs,

Chamber of Commerce while we had our business.

My interests were gardening, thus my patron saint of St. Frances, church, family,

reading, walking, word games, music, theater. I loved writing and receiving letters,

travel.

As I travel the highway over the rainbow I pray that our good Lord keeps my family and

friends in the palm of his hands.

Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be February 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Beaverton. Private burial at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon.

Mother requests donations to STAR program(St Cecilia) St Lukes Productions,Odyssey

Hospice,National Altzheimers Association.
