He is predeceased in death by his parents Ivy and Bettye McGehee; and his nephew Nik Camus.
Jim was born in El Paso, TX on June 5, 1946 to Ivy and Bettye McGehee. Jim and his family moved to Portland, OR when he was 14 years old where he attended Lincoln High School and played on the basketball team. He then joined the Army Reserve where he served 2 years. After his duty he started his own business selling doors to building contractors and through these connections, he changed course and began as a Portland Home Builder for 40 years. One of his many business highlights was starting the Street Of Affordable Home Show with a partner, later being called NW Natural Gas Show of Homes.
On February 26, 1972 he married the love of his life, Mickie. Together their biggest accomplishment was having their 2 children and 7 grandchildren. Family was everything to him and as his family expanded he enjoyed the many occasions of family dinners, celebrations and vacations, including trips to Hawaii, Europe, and especially frequenting his vacation home in Palm Desert.
Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him and the many friends and family who have supported him throughout the years.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, September 25th at 11am at St John Fisher Catholic Church.
