We wish to advise Jon's friends and relatives, and our friends who knew him, that he has passed on. He was diagnosed with lung cancer on August 15, 2012; chemotherapy failed. Although he had his faults, as anyone might have, he was a fundamentally good man, husband, and father. He served our country proudly for 28 years in the United States Air Force and Oregon Air National Guard, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. We will miss him forever.
Our branch of the Stacey family has always been very private about saying our goodbyes to our departed loved ones. So, as with Jon's father George’s demise in 1981, and his mother Frances' demise in 2008, no funeral or memorial service is planned. His remains will be interred next to his favorite dog at a private ceremony in Beaverton, Oregon at some point in the future.
Please do not send flowers. If you want to contribute in his memory, Jon's favorite charity was the Oregon Humane Society, ATTN: Mary Henry, PO Box 11364, Portland, OR 97211-0364
