

Loreta Mejia Artucilla of Aloha, Oregon passed away May 3, 2025. Th oldest of her siblings, and a beloved fixture in her family’s life, she was affectionately known as "Mama Lee”.
Mama Lee was born in Pangasinan, The Philippines on February 10, 1947.
She married her late husband Zoilo "Noy" Artucilla and raised her children in Pasay City, The Philippines. Not passed on December 7, 1987.
Loreta was able to find a partner in Manuel Guinto "Tatay Manny” to share her life with after the loss of her husband. She is survived by her sister Amelita "Tita Amy”; and is pre-deceased by her siblings: Violeta "Mama Leng", Robertoo "Uncle Boy", Tita Theresa “Baby/Ne-ne".
Mama Lee is also survived by her children, Lorelyn (Angelito), Joel (Magie), Jon-Jon (Lerma) and Analyn. As well as her grandchildren: Angelyn, Jacqueline, Stephanie, Leanne, Althea, Jay-jay, Arci, Zia, Sam, Jhoshua, Jhonzhelle, Gillian.
Mama Lee was very generous, and hardworking. She survived as a single mother raising 4 kids after she was widowed at 40 years of age.Loreta moved to Yokosuka Japan in 1998 and worked in food service at US Navy Base there. She then moved to the US in 2001and worked as a caregiver until she retired. Mama Lee loved cooking and her specialties were pancit and lumpia.
The family has many special memories of their Mama Lee. Such as when she house-sitting while on vacation and she would feed Apple her favorite food "chicken adobo”. Loreta was always smiling and happy; and defied age by having no wrinkles. She was always very affectionate, always kissing and hugging her children and grandchildren and anyone she felt needed love. She loved Chinese food, especially Dim Sum (particularly shrimp and chicken!) Loreta loved Red, it was her favorite color. Her favorite actress was the famous actress and advocate Nora Aunor, who passed away two weeks before Loreta did.
Mama Lee loves Aegis music and could always be heard humming and smiling; and was often drinking her coffee and loved all dogs and cats, especially her fur grandbabies Miso, Buko, Bantay.
Loreta “Mama Lee” Mejia Artucilla was a beautiful lady inside and out and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was a loving mother and grandmother and always brought a smile to everyone and touched everyone’s heart.
