Phyllis June Gunther (Franz) was raised in California where she earned an LPN nursing degree. After marrying Ted and moving to Oregon, she became a nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital where she served for over 30 years.
Ted and Phyllis expanded their family with the births of a daughter, Debbie, and a son, Chris. Phyllis continued to work and returned to school where she earned her RN degree, all while raising her family.
In what spare time she could find, Phyllis was an active parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, helping with the Meals on Wheels program among other things.
Phyllis enjoyed being part of a quilting group for 15 years, swimming at the Elsie Stuhr Center, attending the theatre and symphony, and travelling all over the world – all while wearing her favorite color, purple! When needing to visit her happy place, Phyllis would go to the beach – you could usually find her watching the waves at Lincoln City, Oregon.
Phyllis is survived by her sister, Judy Hook, daughter Deborah Franz and son Christopher Franz.
