

She was a graduate of Grant High School and the University of Oregon. She married Robert J. Mayer on February 28, 1942. They shared 56 great years together.
Thelma later earned her teaching certificate and was a first grade teacher at Cedar Mill School in the Beaverton School District for 23 years.
She was skilled at quilting, knitting and embroidery and enjoyed cooking, especially desserts. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their retirement visiting Hawaii and the Northwest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marjorie, two brothers, Robert and Frederick, Jr., and her husband, Robert.
She is survived by her son, Ronald and daugher in law, Rosemarie, of Hood River, Oregon; and granddaughter, Katherine of Everett, Washington.
Private burial will be at Finley's Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Portland, Oregon.
The family suggests remembrances to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Salvation Army.
