Clorice June Brooks

Clorice June Brooks (Dye), 73, died in Hendersonville TN on May 2, 2014. The cause was pancreatic cancer. She was born May 28, 1940 along with her identical twin in Alvy West Virginia, to Goldie and Orie Dye. June’s first marriage was to Fred A. Brooks. In 1960 June and Fred had their first baby girl (Tonya Jo Brooks). In 1963 June and Fred had another baby girl (Vicki Leigh Brooks). June and family resided in Indiana for a few years following their daughters births. June worked for the Citizens Gas Company and took care of her family. June was a member of many social clubs, enjoyed bowling and playing in card clubs.

In the mid 1980’s June divorced and moved to Tennessee where she spent the next 30 years. She worked for American Airlines and Alcon.

June will be especially remembered for just loving life and her family and friends. She was especially high spirited and very witty with her words. She loved collecting jewelry. Each morning she would put on what she called her “war paint.” She looked beautiful each and every day. June loved to travel and loved trying new things throughout her entire life. Her favorite place was the beach and ocean.

She spent the final seven years of her life with her significant other and best friend Russell Lee Chambers. They enjoyed traveling around the United States including Hawaii and Islands off the coast of Florida.

Daughter Tonya Brooks of Hendersonville TN. Daughter Vicki Neely and her husband David Neely of Danville IN.

Granddaughters Angela Wiggins (Rosner) married to Brian Wiggins of Gallatin TN. Jami Rosner of NYC, NY and Danielle Rosner of Avon IN.

Grandsons Joshua Neely and fiancé Abby Feazell of Danville IN. Michael Neely and wife Misti Neely of Fillmore IN.

Great grandchildren, Riley Joseph Neely, Elizabeth June Wiggins and Elena Michelle Neely.

Sisters Yvonne Beckley, Margret Mcdonald, Joanne Tillison (twin), and sister in law Kay Dye.

June was preceded in death by her brother Robert Franklin Dye.

Services will be held at Little and Sons Funeral Home in Beech Grove Indiana. The showing is 4:00-7:00 PM. May 8, 2014. The funeral is on May 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow services at Acton Cemetery in Acton Indiana.
