Dawn Elaine Brown

Dawn was a graduate of Beech Grove High School. She completed her associates degree in business and worked for Eli Lilly for 28 years before retiring in 2007. From there, she went on to work for Dow Chemical Company as a Master Scheduler for four years. Dawn never knew a stranger and was the light of the world and was loved by everyone. Her gigantic personality was always the center of the room. Her cheers for the NFL and Nascar could be heard every Sunday.

Dawn is survived by her husband of 32 years, Duane Brown; furbaby Storm, her son Darren (Erin) Doss; her daughters Maci (Doug) Smotherman and Abby Brown; her mother Barbara Shipley and her father Dale (Judy) Cummings; her sisters Teri (Robert) Morgan, Kelly Cummings, Dawn (Johnny) Marino, and Sherry (Greg) Hiatt. Her sister-in-laws Helen Strykowski and Laraine (Kevin) Robbins, her brother-in-law Ralph (Wanda) Brown, her grandchildren: James Darren Doss II, Khalen Jones, Jeremy Kissee II, Ashton, Tristan, and Emilee Doss; nieces Heather (Arnold) Gonzales, Barbara Whiteside, Michelle (Brad) Crawley, Melissa (James) Wallis, Shannon (Michael) Knaack, Darla Conley, niece Donna (Tommy) Collins, and Ronda Strykowski; nephews: Mark (Kathy) Strykowski Robert, Brian, and Matthew Brown, and Rick (Sarah) Strykowski; her uncles Randy (Cathy) Eppard, William (Patricia) Eppard, as well as several great nieces and nephews, many cousins and a lifelong connection of friends.

Dawn was preceded in death by her daughter Diane Doss, her son-in-law Jeremy Kissee I; her step father Grady Shipley; her brother-in-law Gale (Carol) Brown, and her sister-in-law Alice Brown.

She was loved by all and is missed by many.

A visitation for Dawn will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
