89, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012. He was born April 11, 1922 in Sullivan, IN to the late James and Maggie Vandergriff. Jim retired from Western Electric in 1984 after 32 years of service. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and member of Bell Conservation Club. He is survived by his son, John Curtis; special granddaughter and caretaker, Crisinda (Brian) Giffin; grandchildren, James (Tracy) Curtis, Brett (Renee) Curtis, and Mary and Mindy Curtis; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Allison Schilk; and great-great grandchildren, James, Cristopher, and Annibell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Valeda Vandergriff, and son, James Curtis. Visitation will be Monday, March 5, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Little & Sons Funeral Home, Beech Grove Chapel, where the funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
