Joyce Fisher Silvers

She graduated from Beech Grove High School in 1955.

Joyce worked in Guest Relations and as the Volunteer Coordinator for St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove for 19 years before retiring in 1999. Joyce was previously employed at AFNB (bank), the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, and Roberts Park Methodist Church. She was also an avid AVON products sales representative.

Joyce was actively involved in Faith Assembly of God Church in Beech Grove where she was the organist for many years. She and her husband, Bob, eventually became dedicated members of The Caring Place church where they poured their hearts into serving wherever they were needed—whether it was volunteering, or simply offering a warm smile and kind word to those who walked through the doors.

They ministered with Roe Farris and Ruth Winstead in Friends Fellowship assisting and providing music in the Indiana Women’s Prison. They also hosted a Christian Life Group in their home for many years. After Joyce retired they traveled and ministered through their music as “The Singing Silvers.”

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Bob Silvers and her parents Al and Dorothy Smith.

She is survived by her children, Shellie Butrum and Mike Fisher (Stacey); stepchildren, Robert Silvers Jr. (Tracy), Tonja Morris (Rick), Bryan Silvers (Lori); grandchildren Chad (Margaret), Kristin (Jerad), Amanda (Carl), Kyle, Roland (Danielle), Michaela (Eli), Elise, Reece, Katie (Kevin), Colt (Vanna), Dustin (Heather), Dexter (Candace), Chelsea (Griffin), and Carleigh (Doug); and great grandchildren, Eliza, Carter, Julia, Jenna, Deacon and Lainey, Finley, Wesley, Killian, Tatum, Kaleb, Jaxon, Maxwell, Dominic, Olivia, Blaine, Baer, Dakota, Chloe, and Davian.

The family would like to thank Wellington at Southport and Anchor of Hope Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.

Friends and family are invited for a time to gather at Little & Sons Funeral Home, located at 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana, 46107, on January 30, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow.

Joyce's final resting place will be Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, located at 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood.
