Larry Douglas Bowden Sr.

Larry Douglas Bowden Sr., age 78, of Beech Grove, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021. Larry was born on October 15, 1942 in Bedford, Indiana to the late Chester Daniel and Dorothy Jeanette Bowden. Larry graduated from Beech Grove High School in 1961. He served in the United States Army and was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne. Larry obtained his Associate's Degree from Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He then went on to graduate from California State University in San Bernardino with his Bachelor's Degree. In his younger years, Larry was a member of Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed playing golf and guitar and he also enjoyed listening to jazz music. Larry was an avid sports fan and his favortie teams to watch were USC football, Lakers basketball and Dodgers baseball. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Larry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Donna (Wright) Bowden; children, David (Monica) Bowden, Leslie Bowden and Lorrie Bowden-Cagan; grandchildren, Marcus and Miles Bowden, Douglas Bowden and Johnny and Julian Cagan; brother, Michael L. Bowden; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry "Doug" Douglas Bowden Jr.; and brother, Ronald C. Bowden. A memorial service will take place on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main Street, Beech Grove, IN 46107. The service will conclude with full military honors outside the funeral home.
