Mary Jane McVey

Mary Jane McVey passed away on November 13, 2011 after her long battle with cancer.Mary was born in Beech Grove to Clarence “Sid” and Clara “Honey” Oberting. Mary was a graduate of Sacred Heart H.S. in 1955.Mary was very active in the Beech Grove community. She was past president of the PTA for South Grove and BGHS, as well as Marion County Council and coached many sports with BG Boosters, volunteered at St. Francis Hospital, ran for the Beech Grove city council in 2007, was a member of two Red Hat Societies and was a member of St. Jude Parish.Mary is survived by her loving husband Donald of 50 yrs. children; Vicki McVey, Sharon(Don)Raley, Peggy (Tony)Mills, Julie McVey, Andy(Anette)McVey and Nancy(Brian)Newerth, 14 grand children and 10 great-grandchildren, mother Clara Oberting, and brother Tony(Trish)Oberting.

Mary was preceded in death by her father Clarence Oberting and son Nicholas.The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff of the Oncology Dept. at St. Francis Hospital and Dr. Mary Lou Mayer and her staff for all of their generous care and heartfelt support.Friends may call on Wed. November 16, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. in Little and Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Thurs. November 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. also in the funeral home.
