Patricia Jane Tartaglia Lucas

1933-2016

Born to Frank and Katherine (Gamron) Tartaglia, February 6, 1933. Was raised with 2 sisters Mary Lou Mitchell (Dick) and Bette Jean Harrelson. She graduated from Bloomington High School and worked at the radio station and the gas company in Bloomington, before she married Leonard Elmo Lucas, August 17, 1951. They had been married 64 years and have three children: Steven (passed July, 2014), Michael (Judith) Lucas, and Lisa Kirk (Carl). She has four grandchildren, Joe (Kathy) Lucas, Denise Eckerty (Mike), Brandi Lucas and Stefani Lucas and 12 Grandchildren.

They moved to Danville, Indiana when Leonard came to work at the Indianapolis Star-News. They lived in Plainfield, IN, Indianapolis and settled in Beech Grove, IN in 1959. Patricia worked 20 years on Main Street at Ben Franklin 5-10 Store, Union Federal, and Beech Grove True Value Hardware. Retired the end of 1988.

Spent 5 years living at Country Squire Lakes, North Vernon, IN and wintered in Zephyrhills, FL. They moved back to Beech Grove in 1995, where she resided until a serious fall put her in Altenheim Long Term Facility from 2015 till her passing.

She belonged to the Beech Grove Order of the Eastern Star and is a member of University Heights United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to University Heights Methodist Church for Bibs, (Better Indy Babies) or Indian Creek Card Care Ministry.

We would like to thank the caring individuals in A wing of Altenheim, Kindred Hospice and Card Care and Hospital Visitation at Indian Creek Christian Church.

Visitation will be held Sunday April 24, 2016 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove3 Chapel. Private Graveside Services Monday April 25th at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greenwood, IN
