Rick was born in Indianapolis to Mildred and Earle Johnson on November 26, 1948. He married Dana Johnson on June 6, 1987 in Bloomington, IN. He attended Monmouth University as part of speciality training in computer technology prior to serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from working at PPG Paints (previously Porter Paints). He was involved in local Volkswagen organizations and enjoyed watching sports, particularly volleyball and NASCAR, and science fiction shows/movies. He also loved a crisp Diet Coke.
Rick is preceded in death by Mildred Johnson (mother), Earle Johnson (father), Stephen Johnson (brother), and David Stephens (father-in-law).
Rick is survived by his wife Dana Johnson and their daughter Traci Johnson, son Kyle Johnson and Shannon Johnson, son Jason Osborn and Megen Osborn, sister Janice Ends and Dan Ends, sister-in-law Debbie Johnson, and granddaughter Adalind Osborn.
There will be no public service but memorials may be given to HVAF of Indiana.
