Sister Mary Mark Bartoo

Sr. Mary Mark was born on January 28, 1937, in Wabash, Indiana to the late Clifford and Bernice Bartoo. She entered Our Lady of Grace Monastery in 1962.

Sr. Mary Mark graduated from Urbana High School. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education from Manchester College and a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Indiana State University.

As an educator, she taught in several schools in Indiana including Our Lady of Grace Academy, St. Mary, Floyd Knobs and St. Mary, New Albany. After leaving the classroom, she became the Maintenance Coordinator at Our Lady of Grace Monastery and St. Paul Hermitage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Karl Bartoo and her sister Sally Merciez. She is survived by her brother James Bartoo, Urbana, Indiana, several nieces and nephews and her Religious Community.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Grace Monastery on Thursday, January 9th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A wake service will be held at 7:00 PM in the Monastery Chapel. Her funeral Mass will be at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 10th.
