Steve was a proud Journeyman Wireman for 26 years after being sworn in with IBEW Local 481 in August of 1997.
Steve had a love for music from a very young age at Holy Name grade school and then was a drummer with the band Buzzy Jones for many years. His passion for music remained throughout his life.
Steve was a perfectionist and a "Jack of all trades" always working on a project. His love for learning was evident in the details of his craftsmanship. He enjoyed reading and staying up to date with current events.
Although Steve was a man of few words, his kind soul was more than words could say. He had a silly, dry sense of humor and a great personality.
Steve is survived by his parents Charlene and Lawrence Butcher; his brother David (Barb) Butcher, his sister Laurie (Brett) Lundy; his soulmate Julie McVey; his niece Claire (Chris) Brown, his niece Abby Butcher, his nephew Douglas (Stephanie) Lundy, several great nieces and nephews, many aunts and uncles, and an abundance of friends.
A memorial visitation for Steve will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107. A second memorial visitation will occur Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Catholic Funeral Mass will occur Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 N 17th Ave, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107.
