Wayne Curtis Rockwell

Wayne was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia to Curtis and Almeda Rockwell. After graduating from Martinsburg High, a scholar and basketball star, he went on to get a degree in Industrial Engineering at West Virginia University. During that time he met the reigning Miss Martinsburg, Luanne Gochenour.

Wayne was preceded to Heaven by his wife of 68 years and his daughter, Julia.

He is survived by daughters Rhonda (Jim), Cheri (Matt), grandchildren: Brandon (Carrie), Jeremy (Stephanie), David, Leeann (Jake) and Tayler; and his eleven great grandchildren.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. His passion for golf, traveling, singing, barbershop and in church choirs, dancing with his wife, and above all being with family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00pm at University Heights Christian Church, 4050 Shelby Street, Indianapolis Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Indianapolis, Kiwanis downtown chapter, or University Heights Christian Church- organizations he felt strongly about.
