

Benjamin Anthony Rosinski passed away May 7, 2010 at the age of 92 from complications due to a brain hemorrhage. Ben was born November 13, 1917 in Cavendish, Vermont to Joseph and Mary Rosinski. Ben was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, May Helen Rosinski, brothers Joe, Fritz, Lud and Bernard and sister Florence.
Ben worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company from 1939 until his retirement in 1984. He retired after serving as Plant Manager of the Houston Synthetic Rubber Plant, the largest synthetic rubber plant in the world, from 1952 to 1984. Throughout his life, he was an avid golfer, playing golf up until his death. As a young man, he was an accomplished athlete, participating in baseball and basketball. He once pitched an 18 inning baseball game, only to lose by one run. He was successful in his tryout as a pitcher for the New York Yankees baseball organization. He was an all state forward in basketball in 1938. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church since 1950, serving as the Annual Church Bazaar Chairman, as an usher and volunteering in as many other ways as he felt would benefit the church.
Ben is survived by his wife, Jeanny, son Michael Rosinski of Houston, daughters Linda Jackson of Austin and Joan Blankenship of Buchanan Dam and step daughter, Ada Chen, grandsons, Lt. Cdr. Ryan Jackson of Lemoore, CA, Josh Rosinski of Houston and Fields Jackson of Austin, granddaughter Amy Rosinski of Houston, great-granddaughters Caroline and Madeline Jackson of Lemoore, CA and Elle Rosinski of Houston, and a brother, Stanley Rosinski of Keene, NH. He is also survived by his canine companion of 16 years, Benji. “Gentle Ben” will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
