I recall meeting Bridget on my first day at Texaco. She was my HR person and what I will never forget is how she remembered me from being my parents’ son, having met me years earlier (they worked for Texaco as well).

Bridget took a personal interest and MADE me max out my 401(k) salary deductions saying “you didn’t have this money before and you won’t miss it!”

That act of interest and kindness is still making a difference in my life today, almost 35 years later.

Bridget also gave me a little porcelain bell for my Christmas tree, saying it was from Ireland. I still place that bell on my tree.

Rest in peace, Bridget. You made a real difference in my life!

I worked for many years for Texaco with Bridget and Kathy  and really enjoyed both of them. Bridget and I sat across from each other for many years in Human Resources and I learned a lot about Ireland from her.  I remember so well she and Kathy moving to Houston from the New York Texaco office.  It was quite an adjustment for both of them. It was really fun to watch Bridget trying to learn how to drive since Houston did not have public transportation (and still doesn't).  I also remember the time they saw a huge Texas cockroach in their apartment.  I don't remember if we had 911 then, but they probably called someone to rescue them.  It was a pleasure to know both of them and my sincere condolences to the family.  I hope Bridget's final resting place is in Ireland.

So sorry for your loss.
