Diane Dennis

Lillian Diane (Dee) Luckett Dennis, 98 years old, passed away in Houston, Texas on February 1, 2022. The oldest daughter of Valentine Livingston Luckett and Evelyn Tindall Luckett, Dee was born in Cameron, Texas, and lived there until she left to attend the University of Texas. She met her husband, Jerry, there, and they married in 1941. Dee was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Val, and her husband. She is survived by her two children: son Jerry (Dorothy) of Conroe, TX and daughter Viki (John) of Edmonds, WA; three grandchildren: Tracy Dennis, Dawn Howard (Wes), and Jared Hennessy; two great grandchildren: Katelynn and Sydney Howard; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two siblings, Rosemary Kerr and Charles Luckett (Pat).

In 1959, Dee and Jerry moved from Austin to Houston, TX. Dee worked for the Houston Independent School District for many years starting as an elementary school secretary and later moving to the HISD administration building. She was active in the Texas Educational Secretaries Association and the National Association of Educational Office Professionals. Since 2009, she has lived at Holly Hall Retirement community where she had many friends including her longtime friend and guardian angel, Marilyn James. She started each day with a call to dear friend, Vivian Ivy. Dee will be greatly missed by friends and family.
