

Jose was born in San Antonio, TX to Esequiel G. Aguirre and Juanita M. Aguirre on May 10, 1950. After high school where he met his wife, Rachel Vera he entered the U.S. Army. He served honorably in Vietnam from September 1970 until May of 1971 when he then returned home to start building his family. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for close to 40 years where he retired. He met many lifelong friends at the post office and enjoyed serving his local mail community. He was also a proud member of the Postal union where he helped his fellow mail carriers.
He enjoyed assisting with coaching his sons and their classmates in football at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School. When he did take time off from work he loved vacationing with his family to the happiest place on earth, Walt Disney World. Jose was a devoted Cowboys fan and never missed the chance to watch a game. You could always catch him with a scratch off in hand as welling hopes of being the next lucky winner. He was an avid movie enthusiast and loved his 80’s crime tv show reruns.
Most of all Jose was a dedicated family man. He was so in love with his wife and children. He took great pleasure and pride in spending time with his grandchildren and attending their numerous activities.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Esequiel G. Aguirre and Juanita M. Aguirre and two siblings; Victoria Aguirre and Esequiel Aguirre Jr.
Jose is survived by his wife, Rachel, children; Jose, Mark (Julia), Rachel (John) and Yvonne, siblings; Juanita, Margaret, Adolfo (Adela), Refugio (Irene), Maria de la Luz, Juan Antonio and Rose Elva.
Jose is also survived by his grandchildren; Alison, Mark Jr., Jonathan, Andrew, Patrick, Connor, Christopher, Ashlee and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all their family and friends, the staff at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the staff at Earthman Funeral home.
