

Virginia Lorene Redd Blank, age 89, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Lorene was born to Colier and Eva Redd on October 29, 1921 in Itasca, Texas. She graduated from Itasca High School in 1939. Lorene and Loraine, her twin sister, then went to work for the National Youth Administration in Hillsboro, Texas. In l942, she was hired by Itasca Independent School District as Secretary and Bookkeeper where she remained for 11 years. In 1953, she moved to Houston to become associated with Allstate Insurance Company for 32 ½ years, retiring in 1986. Lorene was a faithful and active member of West University Baptist Church for 58 years singing with the church choir and Prime Time Singers. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Emmett Redd; sisters, Eron Jamison, Thelma Hester, Doris Roten and twin sister, Loraine Sebastian. Lorene is survived by her nieces Patricia Ann Craven of Houston, Donna Waleszonia and husband, Doyle, and Judy Whitten of New Mexico; nephews John C. Jamison and wife Carole, Cameron Park, CA; Jett Jamison and wife, Grace of Ft. Worth; and Martin Foster of Mountain View, CA. One niece Virginia Ferguson, preceded her in death. Lorene is survived by numerous other nieces and nephews and brother-in-law William G. Sebastian of Temple, Texas. Lorene was a past Matron of Andral Vann Chapter, Houston, Texas, Order of the Eastern Star.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at West University Baptist Church, , from 1:00-1:30 pm on Friday, February 4, 2011, with the funeral service immediately following at 1:30 pm.
