My wife & I are watching an “ old” Joan Crawford movie. I was in Army Basic Training with Ed Nufer in 1962 & he used to get letters from her(Family friend) He was an impressive individual & short time friend who made Military life easier! Sorry to hear about his death so long ago. I’m sure he must have been a great father!

Ed so loved the ducks/geese at the pond in front of his apartment. In Sept, he fought to find a wildlife rehabilitator to help his injured duck. Help came on 9-16-13. After 7 weeks of treatment by many hands in the wildlife community, the duck miraculously made it. Ed and I released the duck back to the same  pond on Nov.2nd, and it was an emotional event for both of us as we stood watching the reunion of two life-long buddies. Ed, indeed, helped to give this duck a second chance at life, and for that he will always have a place in my heart.  My sincere sympathies to the Nufer family for the loss of this beautiful man.

Your father was a wonderful man, so full of life and joy. I truly enjoyed our time together in Old Town Spring and always respected him. My love and prayers are with you.
